Its famous name is now being introduced to a new generation
If you went clubbing in Liverpool in the 80s and 90s, you'll likely remember incredible nights out at the iconic club Continental. Located in Wolstenholme Square, the venue opened its doors back in 1982 and was also known by its nickname 'the Conti.' Next door to the renowned Tuxedo Junction, the club offered guests their own private car parking service and quickly became a popular place for soul and RnB fans who would spend hours on the mirror-panelled dance floor.
And while the Conti attracted thousands across Merseyside and a number of famous faces, Chris said his dad cherished one stand-out moment made at the venue. He said: 'To be next door to Cream as well and just to be kind of in that time frame of when dance music was getting popular and when things were developing a lot and changing in the nightclub scene, it was amazing. 'One of the greatest memories he ever mentioned was he met my mum there.
