Colder weather favors much of the western half of the state through the next 2 weeksANCHORAGE, Alaska - A freeze-thaw pattern has been with us across Southcentral Alaska this week, with Thursday bringing another day with temperatures in the mid- to upper-30s.

While much of Southcentral remains on the drier side, Southeast Alaska continues to see rain and snow in the forecast. With warmer weather building back into the Panhandle, many areas will likely see a transition to a wintry mix, with temperatures expected to warm into the upper 30s later this afternoon. While heavy snow doesn’t look as likely, many areas could still pick up 2 to 4 inches of accumulation through the day.
