Irish FA chief executive Patrick Nelson says Irish League clubs will need £120m to help with much-needed stadium redevelopment.

Nelson is hoping the release of funds for Casement will lead to a "proper sub-regional budget" for clubs here.“We need in excess of £100m, I think we probably need £120m and that’s just for the NIFL clubs.“March 10, 2011 was the date when the then Sports Minister Nelson McCausland said here is the outline for the stadia redevelopment programme.

“The Councils will maintain and support football at intermediate and junior level but our significant grounds need redeveloped and the hard deadline for Casement and the Euros will hopefully encourage people with the purse strings to get moving and release the right amount.”
