Five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek has stated that her one-month doping ban was the 'worst experience of my life'. The ban came from a sample containing angina medication trimetazidine, taken from an out-of-competition test on August 12, which was attributed to contamination from melatonin, a non-prescription drug taken for jet lag and sleep issues.

The Polish player was ranked world number one when she provided a sample containing the angina medication trimetazidine in an out-of-competition test on 12 August.
