IKEA has finally landed
Lancashire's first-ever IKEA has opened in Preston. The IKEA Plan & Order Point is dedicated to bedroom and kitchen planning, and is based in Deepdale Retail Park.
The Click and Collect facility is the first of its kind in a Plan & Order Point store in the UK. Hundreds of orders have already been placed for collection, with a huge onsite warehouse storing deliveries. The store is a mini version of the giant Ikea stores, making it more manageable and less daunting for customers, with a more personal service.
There's everything from light shades and fittings, indoor plant ranges, cutlery and crockery options, variety of cupboard door colours and a range of wardrobe styles to drawer handle and door knob designs, clever and discreet storage, kitchenware and ovens.Michael Parker, IKEA area manager, says there "always excitement" when a new Ikea store opens, but the anticipation for Preston is "off the scale".
"This space has two or three core purposes, with plenty of inspiration especially around kitchens and bedrooms. This is an IKEA that is accessible and available for whenever people want to shop.
