Denaldo Meta pleaded guilty to production of cannabis
A 21-year-old illegal immigrant has admitted to being a gardener at a cannabis farm in Nottingham. when he appeared from custody at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday, December 18.
Defending barrister Sue Rodham said she would not be seeking a pre-sentence report for her client. She said: “He is in the country illegally and any sentence will take him back to Albania.” Nottinghamshire Police executed a warrant on the address last month following information from members of the community that the class B drug was being grown there. Officers discovered more than 300 plants in six separate growing areas when they raided the home in Wollaton Hall Drive, Lenton, on the morning of Tuesday, November 26.
“The team developed this intelligence to execute a successful warrant which put a large cannabis-producing enterprise out of action. Cannabis grows of this nature can also pose a very significant fire risk to adjoining properties because of the amount of heat they generate and the sheer quantity of highly combustible materials within.
