Nagpositibo sa poliovirus ang isang ilog dahil umano sa dumi ng tao na nagmula sa mga kabahayan sa Mandaue, Cebu.
Sa ulat ng GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak, na iniulat din sa Unang Balita nitong Biyernes, sinabing ito ang lumabas sa pagsusuri ng City Health Office sa mga tubig sa lungsod.
Palagay ni Mandaue Acting Vice Mayor Nerissa Soon Ruiz, na isa ring doktor, galing sa mga bahay ang dumi ng tao na napunta sa ilog. Wala pang naitalang kaso ng polio sa lungsod ngunit nagbabala na ang lokal na pamahalaan sa mga residente na huwag uminom ng tubig galing sa ilog. Sinabi ng Department of Health na karaniwang nakukuha ang polio sa pagkain o inuming kontaminado ng dumi ng tao na may polio virus.
