Senator Imee Marcos said Saturday that she advised her brother, presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., to join the debate organized by the Commission on Elections.
“Ang totoo hindi pa kami nag-uusap. Ang balita nga hindi daw siya pupunta at tingnan kung ano kalalabasan. Pero, ayun, sinabi ko pa rin na pwede naman siguro pumunta, at least, magpakita,” Imee said in a radio interview. Also, the senator said that it would be better if Bongbong would show up, at least in one of the scheduled presidential debates, because the public is eager to listen to the presidential candidates’ platforms and stances on various issues.
“Tingnan natin kasi ate lang ako, super ate, at pwede natin pagsabihan pero desisyon pa rin niya kung importante para sa kanila kasi marami rin nagsasabi na hindi masyadong mahalaga. Pero sa tingin ko, maganda naman lumabas siya kasi yung mga tao eh sabik din makinig sa lahat ng ating mga kandidato,” Imee said.
Bongbong skipped the "presidential interviews" with GMA Network’s Jessica Soho, the forum organized by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas, and the presidential debate sponsored by CNN Philippines., while the first vice presidential debate is scheduled for March 20. Both events will be held at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila in Pasay City.
