I put the IMOU RV-L11-A Smart Robot Vacuum Cleaner through its paces to see if it could give me some time back, and also if it would actually stand up to the biggest test of all - pug hair
Vacuuming is one of those household chores that I find particularly tedious. It's not just the time it takes, but also the hassle of clearing floor spaces, untangling cables and removing hair from the mechanism. The only redeeming factor is how clean my house looks afterwards.
The vacuum comes with a 300ml dustbox that can hold up to 60 days worth of debris, and a 250ml water tank that should cover a good amount of floor space before needing a refill. It also offers three levels of suction power and three different levels of water output, all of which can be controlled via the free-to-use app.
Setting it up was pretty quick and straightforward, and the app was easy to navigate. After letting it charge, I simply chose the automatic setting and let it do its thing. It started by mapping out the edges of my hallway, identifying walls, doorways and obstacles, and seemed to handle just about anything with ease including my dog, who was thoroughly unimpressed by it and kept standing in its way.
It even managed to retrieve itself after becoming breached on a curved chair leg, which was impressive.
