“Impunity no longer exists” in the current administration, Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin C. Remulla said on Tuesday, July 25.

“No such thing as impunity now. “Everybody accounts for what they do,” Remulla said during a press briefing.

He cited the arrests of persons involved in the death of broadcasters Percival C. Mabasa and Cresenciano Bunduquin as well as the killing of a relative of a tabloid reporter.“If you look at the cases of journalists compared to before, I think we have been able to hold the people responsible,” Remulla said.He stressed: “We can trust our institutions more now.”He noted that “the rule of law is actually a very important part of economic development.
