King Charles III experienced a rather awkward moment shortly after his arrival at the House of Lords Chamber to deliver his speech at the State Opening of Parliament.
However, as King Charles and Queen Camilla settled on their thrones, an unexpected sound pierced the silence of the House of Lords a mobile phone ringing just moments after the King took his seat, much to the chagrin of Royal enthusiasts. "Oops. Mobile phone went off during state opening of Parliament. I think that's treason," another quipped.
Further into his address, which was penned by Prime Minister Keir Starmer, King Charles declared: "Legislation will be brought forward to help the country achieve energy independence and unlock investment in energy infrastructure. A Bill will be introduced to support sustainable aviation fuel production ."
