Attendees have been urged to report any concerns to officers amid the huge celebrations
There will be an increased police presence across Manchester during the busy Pride weekend, amid the Manchester United game at Old Trafford and Noel Gallagher also playing at Wythenshawe Park.
The iconic parade celebrating the LGBTQ+ community will return to the city on Saturday with the procession starting at midday. Thousands are also expected to flock to Old Trafford to see Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest and music fans to see Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds in a huge gig in Wythenshawe.
The Manchester Evening News has previously reported that off-duty officers taking part in this year's parade have been asked not to wear their uniform by Manchester Pride organisers. "We have worked closely with organisers of the events to make sure that everything is in place for everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time. Public transport will be busier than usual, with some public transport services not running due to industrial action, so people should plan their journeys to and from the events.
