Gov. Eric Holcomb issued a ban on cellphones in all Indiana K-12 schools.
This will look different for every district since schools have the power to specify restrictions and consequences in their handbook.
"One of the things we're doing is the first time it's a warning,” Olson said. “The teachers just going to talk to the kid, maybe pull them out in the hall and say, 'Hey you know you got to put it away.’ And they put it away, no big deal, we're all good. If they refuse at that point, they're going to be sent to the office and they're going to meet with one of the administrators, and we're going to have a conversation about this as well.
And not everything has stayed the same. While some schools are banning phones only, others are including more devices.
