The head of TikTok in Australia has urged the federal government not to single out the app for a ban.reports that the Prime Minister and Cabinet urged the government to take a country agnostic approach to social media apps in its security review to avoid being seen as targeting Chinese companies.

“Look at the breadth of social media applications and messaging. So we’re welcoming the idea that the government might be country agnostic to looking at data security and privacy,” he told ABC RN Breakfast.“What’s happening here is we’re getting caught up in wider geopolitical issues ... whatever you might think of China, we are not China.”
