Indonesia is encouraging Aussie tourists to go beyond their usual Bali haunts in a new push to redirect tourists away from Bali and onto the country’s other islands.
While Indonesia is a lush archipelago of about 18,000 islands, most Australians who visit the country exclusively travel to Bali.

Picture: Getty. To better manage tourism and spotlight other parts of Indonesia, the country’s tourism board is encouraging Aussies to “go beyond Bali”.
The locations Lombok and Labuan Bajo have been earmarked by the Indonesian government as two fresh alternatives for foreign tourists.Lombok is located slightly to the west of Bali and is renowned for its waterfalls, while Labuan Bajo is an idyllic fishing town on the island of Flores.
