Spending on infrastructure projects soared in April owing to mobilization costs related to the ongoing projects of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) reported. | ManilaBulletin

Based on the DBM data posted on its website, the national government’s infrastructure and other capital outlays jumped by 37 percent to P87.3 billion in April from P63.8 billion in the same month last year.

These costs are typically incurred at the start of a project and are necessary to ensure that all the necessary resources and personnel are in place to complete the project successfully. To achieve this goal, the government has established a medium-term infrastructure program that aims to sustain infrastructure spending at five percent to six percent of gross domestic product annually.
