Experience the wonder of Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, a stunning four and a half mile circular route featuring six enchanting waterfalls. Perfectly suited for families, this picturesque trail offers breathtaking views, woodland scenery, and a chance to reconnect with nature.

A magical waterfall trail with six different enchanting waterfalls is a perfect family walk that's worth the drive from Liverpool. Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is a four and a half mile walking route located in Carnforth, which is around a 90 minute drive from the city. The circular trail is ideal for families, because the distance isn't too long for little ones and there are plenty of beautiful spots to stop and take in the view, as well as a picnic area en route.

With spectacular waterfall views and woodland scenery, it's the perfect weekend escape into nature - even in winter. Visitors to the waterfalls trails will pass by six waterfalls, including Thornton Force, Pecca Falls, Beezley Falls and Snow Falls. There's also a Falls park refreshments kiosk located half way along the route, which sells hot and cold drinks and snacks, at the ideal time for a break. Families can also take part in a children's activity challenge, and pick up a 'geology and ecology guide' to help them to learn more about their surroundings. Numbered marker posts around the trail identify areas of interest and the guide provides details on the natural environment in that location. The attraction has glowing reviews online, with a TripAdvisor score of 4.5 overall. Martin M said: 'Amazing place to visit and take the dog. Had a brilliant three hours round here - the sights are amazing. There are a couple of points you can get a drink or something to nibble on the way round or failing that take a picnic. It also loops you back round through the village with a Co-Op to get back to you car. Really nice views the whole walk.' Lyndsey B said: 'This is a great trail, so much to see, the place is beautiful. Yes there is a charge to get in but this also includes your car parking space, I really didn’t want to pay to get in but to be honest I would pay it again to see all the waterfalls. The trail is easy to follow and there are lots of steps to climb throughout so can be strenuous in places. My nine and 11 year olds managed it without too much moaning! Love the ice-cream truck half way round, we opted for a latte, hot chocolate & a Yorkshire tea. Took us around 2 hours 45 mins.' Karen F said: 'Beautiful relaxing walk taking in many different waterfalls. We took our eight year old daughter with us and she thoroughly enjoyed looking for the next waterfall. Took us approx 3.5 hours but we did have multiple drink, snack stops so could be done quicker but why rush!' Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is a year-round attraction, and families should allow between two and a half to four hours to complete the route, depending on fitness levels and your walking speed. While the trail is open come rain or shine, it will sometimes be closed during extreme weather conditions - but visitors can ring the ticket kiosk for further information. During the winter, the trail is open between 9am and 2:30pm, with these opening hours operating in December, January and February. In March the opening hours extend to 4pm, with a 7pm closing time between April and August. The trail closes at 4pm in September and October, and 2.30pm in November. Visitors do have to pay to access the waterfall trail, with tickets priced at £10 for adults (aged 16 and over) and £5 for children. Payment can only be taken by card. There are picnic areas at various points around the walk, with toilets also located at the car park upon arrival and half way round the route at Beezley Farm
