A paraglider sparked a rescue mission near the summit of Tinto Hill yesterday after injuring himself when attempting to take off
.
The paraglider had attempted to take off from the Lanarkshire hill however was dragged along the ground in the process causing him to dislocate his knee. Officers from Police Scotland's Mountain Rescue team alongside Moffatt Mountain Rescue crews descended the hill in a bid to save the wounded man.The casualty was given pain relief then safely packaged into the stretcher and a back rope was used to lower the stretcher down the hill.Moffatt Mountain Rescue Team posted about the mercy mission on Facebook, saying they wished the casualty all the best in their recovery.
