Our thoughts are with his loved ones
He was born on August 14, 2002. An inquest opening into his death has taken place at Nottingham Council House on Tuesday, March 21.
Opening the inquest, assistant coroner Nathanael Hartley said a post-mortem examination was conducted. It was Daniel's father who identified the body at the hospital.Mr Hartley said Daniel's provisional cause of death was MDMA misuse, aspiration pneumonia and ketamine use. Mr Hartley told the hearing: "I have now opened an inquest.
"The inquest is now adjourned for the completion of other inquiries. I would like to offer my sincere condolences to the family and friends of Daniel." In a heartfelt tribute last year, his mum, Linda Duyungan, described Daniel as a "a gentle soul" who enjoyed studying at University of Nottingham. Professor Sam Kingman, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Nottingham, also paid tribute to the student at the time, describing him as a "bright and talented student who was popular with both staff and his peers in our Faculty of Engineering, and he will be greatly missed".
