Thousands of racegoers are set to flock to Merseyside for the three-day event
Preparations for this year's Grand National at Aintree are well under way - and the ECHO was given the chance to see how the course is shaping up
Despite downpours on Tuesday and some heavy rain early on Wednesday, hopes are high for a largely dry three days ahead as the eyes of the world are fixed on the famous old course. The ECHO was invited down to the racecourse today, Wednesday, April 10, to see how the preparations were going. Despite rainy conditions both today and on Tuesday, colourful flower displays were being set up at the entrance and workers from The Jockey Club were on the grass track making final preparations.Away from the track itself, preparations were underway to get the various hospitality and food and drink areas ready.
Among the Grade 1 races at Aintree today are the Aintree Bowl and Aintree Hurdle. We'll have full coverage of the racing as well as all the best fashion on the course throughout the three days in the ECHO and on our website.
