Marlon Dingle, played by actor Mark Charnock , has been a central figure in village life since his arrival in 1996 and many viewers feel like they know him personally after following his various ups and downs over the years. The cute dog often features on Mark's Instagram, much to the delight of fans. Like his onscreen character, Mark also seems to have a passion for food and cooking, regularly posting pictures of his mouth-watering bakes and treats, reports the Mirror. Mark shared: "Emmerdale has worked with some amazing people on this storyline, including the Stroke Association, clinicians and survivors, people who have actually been through it." He continued, "Now strokes can happen to anyone, at any age, at any time and they happen every five minutes in the UK. 50 percent of survivors are dependant on others for their everyday needs and sadly one in seven strokes are fatal.
