Despite being slated to begin filming the final season of Peaky Blinders in March 2020, the onset of the pandemic forced a delay, with production resuming only at the beginning of 2021—by which time McCrory's health precluded her participation. A poignant homage was paid to the beloved actress in the premiere episode of the show's last season, reports the Express.
