The One Direction star died on Wednesday after plunging from the third floor of a boutique hotel building in the Argentinian capital.
Scores of devastated fans have congregated near the Buenos Aires hotel where singer Liam Payne met a tragic end.
"I didn't think he was going to die so young," said Isabella Milesi, 21, to The Associated Press. Another fan, 18-year-old Juana Relh, said: "I've always loved One Direction since I was little. To see that he died and that there will never be another reunion of the boys is unbelievable, it kills me," reports the Mirror.
Liam had checked into this luxurious hotel along with his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy. Not long before the tragedy, he had been engaged with his followers on Snapchat, posting images which depicted him eating his meal and sharing his plans to play polo.He also captured moments with Kate during breakfast, commenting: "This is the breakfast table, just enjoying breakfast and coffee even though it's 1pm.
Another selfie was captioned: "Lovely day in Argentina", and Liam also shared a photo of the hotel, writing: "Happy I got some time away", followed by a heart emoji. The manager of a Buenos Aires hotel made two 911 calls requesting "urgent" assistance ahead of Liam's tragic death, expressing concerns for his wellbeing. The head of reception at Hotel Casa Sur told emergency services: "We have a guest who's off his head on drugs and is destroying everything in his room. We need someone to come."
