The broadcaster and charity founder spent his childhood in one of the UK's 'best-rated' rural towns

Award-winning journalist and consumer hero Martin Lewis CBE has helped millions of Britons save money and take control of their finances.

He later went on to study Government and Law at the London School of Economics, where he became involved in political campaigning, before completing a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism at Cardiff University. “My mum was there one day and she wasn’t the next and that was it,” he said. “This was 1984 and you didn’t have counselling. My childhood ended that day and I am still not over it.”

Small but perfectly formed, Norley is located just five miles from Frodsham, one of Cheshire’s oldest settlements with a market charter dating back to the 13th century. The town still holds a weekly market, adding to its traditional charm and the quaint streets, old-fashioned buildings and small independent shops that give the town a timeless feel.

A highly desirable place to live, properties in Frodsham had an average price of £324,842 over the past year. Detached properties dominated the market, selling for £461,779 on average, while semi-detached homes averaged £300,604 and terraced properties £207,462, according to Rightmove.
