Love Island bosses were forced to 'step in' in 2022 after an online hoax claimed Paige Thorne had left the villa, just hours after her partner Jacques O'Neill quit the show
Love Island has had it's fair share of dramas over the years with shock bomshells, dumpings and exits. Series 11 has already provided the drama in the first week, with the first ever celebrity bombshell, Joey Essex arriving on the first night.
With all the drama over the years, there's no surprise ITV viewers have fallen for hoaxes circulating social media. In 2022 one 'hoax' went so far, that ITV bosses forced to step in and deny the rumours. The drama followed the emotional exit of Jacques O'Neill, Paige's beau on the show, who decided to leave the villa. In a tearful confession, he said: "I just wish I could finish my journey off with you in here but I'm going to go home today."
The footballer confessed that his feelings for Paige were the only thing keeping him in the competition, admitting: "I'd say in the last week, the only thing keeping me in this place was Paige. That's the only thing I was staying for. I've never felt this way for anyone so I just want to get home, be myself again and carry things on the outside."
