It’s been a busy few weeks in Melanie Chisholm’s social calendar recently, with the Spice Girl stepping into the Wimbledon just days after dancing the night away at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
It’s believed to be the Never Be the Same Again singer's first public romance since she separated from her long-term partner two years ago. “I think being a successful woman makes things more complicated,” she told The Sunday Times. “But who knows the reasons why some people find a soulmate and stay together for ever and then other people…”
At the time, she told OK! her fellow Spice Girls - Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Melanie Brown - were offering her their tried-and-tested tips, as they all had their own children at that point. Talking to Lauren Laverne on Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs in 2020 about motherhood, Mel said: “It’s changed me a lot. She’s made me braver, you know, she’s made me stand up for myself more and make big decisions.
“I’ve never, never wanted to marry,” she said a few years ago. “Maybe marriage works for some people, but maybe to think it works for the majority is an old-fashioned notion.”
