A Reform insider reveals the party's four-point plan to become the official opposition in 2029
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage celebrates after winning his first seat in parliament in the Clacton-on-Sea constituency Nigel Farage was still partying at the Big Fat Greek restaurant on Clacton’s sea front at 4.30am, celebrating his resounding victory that finally sees him become an MP on the eighth attempt.Although there may be a small sense of disappointment within the party given the initial exit poll predicted they would bag 13 seats, before being slashed to the four already won.
All Reform eyes are on the next election in five years’ time, and the work to begin preparations to inflict what one senior insider called “the final death blow” to the Tories begins today. “Our success from a standing start at this election shows all potential supporters that money spent with Reform has results,” added the Reform man. “I bet you we’ve spent less per new Reform MP than any other party.
Reform will now attempt to court Tory MPs whose views align more with Farage’s party than what is left of the Conservatives. After his suspension, he defected to Reform. He won his seat with 17,062 votes, beating the Labour candidate Rhea Keehn, who finished in second with 11,553.The Reform chairman won the Boston and Skegness seat in Lincolnshire with 15,520 votes, beating the Tories who came in second place with 13,510 votes.Businessman and former Southampton FC chairman Rupert Lowe, won Great Yarmouth, also from the Tories. He secured 14,385 votes, securing a slim majority of 1,426 over the Labour Party.
Reform will, however, be operating under the current voting system in five years time. No party that wins such a large majority as Labour has, going to change the voting method that got them there.
