Taylor Swift's much-anticipated new album The Tortured Poets Department drops today, ahead of her three-day run of gigs in Edinburgh in June, where she's looking forward to returning to her roots.
Swifties the world over are gearing up for the much-anticipated release of new music this Friday. Taylor Swift ’s much-anticipated album, The Tortured Poets Department, drops across the globe on April 19, featuring 17 brand new tracks and collaborations with artists including Post Malone and Florence + the Machine.
Taylor, who previously dated Scots DJ Calvin Harris, opened up on her heritage during her 2015 gig at the Glasgow Hydro where she revealed she had links to William the Lion. Speaking to the Daily Record last year, she described Scotland as a “really special place” which she’s connected to through both of her parents, dad Scott, 71, and mum Andrea, 65.
Taylor is currently loved up with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce and the A-list pair have been pictured together recently enjoying down time together at Coachella. The couple also escaped for a sunshine break out of the spotlight in the Bahamas last month ahead of Taylor’s European leg of her tour. But it seems next time she’s planning to get away from the stress of gig life, she might even consider a trip to Scotland.
But despite her close connections to all things tartan, she's not giving anything away about donning a kilt when she arrives in the country for her run of shows, as she said: "I have always loved a kilt – as for wearing one when I am in Scotland you will just have to wait and see.” Top showbiz news Taylor's Eras Tour kicked off in March last year, and she has been jetting across the globe performing to fans in places such as South America, Japan and Australia. There's still a few global dates before she hits UK soil.
