The Presidential Emergency Operations Center, used on 9/11, was called into action as demonstrations in Washington turned violent

Viral footage showing the officer kneeling on Mr Floyd’s neck for eight minutes has caused outrage across the globe.

It has also featured in films like White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen but it is not known how many times the facility has been used by real presidents.
The account has been confirmed by an administration official who also spoke on condition of anonymity, but White House spokesman Judd Deere said: ‘The White House does not comment on security protocols and decisions.’The president and his family have been shaken by the size and venom of the crowds, according to the source.It is not clear how many times the facility has been used
