The Hall is now listed on the English Heritage's at Risk Register
A Grade-II listed mansion, Extwistle Hall in Burnley was once the embodiment of wealth, class and status. But today, the structure paints a very different picture.
The property on Todmorden Road was remodelled in the late 18th Century, but has always been a place to live and modelled as such. Families living there may have referred to it as a Manor House with characteristics of this, but it always remained a family property.However, tragedy and the demise of the Hall began in the early 18th Century when a fire occurred. The head of the family was killed in the blaze which resulted in the Parkers leaving Extwistle for Cuerdale.
