Long distance runner Laura Muir boasts an incredible sporting career, having broke records and competed at the Olympic Games twice. Here we take a look into her life...
Laura Muir qualified for the women's 1500m final at the World Athletics Championships on Sunday, having finished in second place in her 1500m heat.
Laura was born in Inverness, Scotland on 9 May 1993. From the age of three, she was raised in Milnathort, Perth and Kinross. "A very special day surrounded by incredibly inspiring people and to have my name along side them was a huge honour. I cannot thank the University of Glasgow and the School of Veterinary Medicine for all their support both during and after my studies. Does this mean I can call myself Dr ² now?"
Throughout her career, Laura has competed at the Olympic Games twice. She came in seventh place at the 2016 games in Rio de Janeirio, Brazil, and then competed in the 2020 games in Tokyo, Japan, going on to come in second place and taking home a silver medal.
