, Tom Ford was more than just a guest. To start, the designer and filmmaker was one of nine directors enlisted by Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu curator in charge of The Costume Institute, to design their own, which opened last night. And after the gala, Ford continued to make his mark on the night by hosting an A-list party at the Carlyle Hotel.
At the close of the Met Gala, just as guests departed the museum, their nights were really just halfway done. After a possible quick change, where gowns were swapped for train-less minidresses, attendees had their picks between several after-parties. Though only the most starry were invited past the velvet ropes at Ford’s fete – if there was a single party to go to, this was the one.
