The outcome depends on the choices you make - and to add to the tension, you're in complete darkness
A gaming experience, with a hint of Black Mirror dystopia, has descended upon Nottingham in a 40ft shipping container. A theatrical show like no other, Arcade, takes the audience on an immersive, interactive journey in pitch darkness.
Arcade is the latest work of Darkfield, which blends theatre and technology to creates strange worlds, in the dark, in shipping containers. It has launched outside Lakeside Arts in the grounds of the University of Nottingham every day until March 24. Darkfield's artistic directors David Rosenberg and Glen Neath have previously brought the shipping container to Nottingham with shows Flight and Séance. David said: "We've never made anything like this before.
Verdict Arcade comes with a trigger warning. If you are claustrophobic or scared of the dark, it may not be the show for you. There's a further warning that it contains themes of violence, death, warfare, explicit language and sexual content, so if you are easily offended stay away. The half-hour flies by. It's intense and the binaural sound - a specific voice or noise in each ear - is quite chilling at times. It feels like someone is literally standing right behind me.
