We spoke to associate founder of Coffee Addict Studio, Fábio Bizon, all about the upcoming adventure game Hazel Sky for our latest interview: coffeeaddict_gs
In Hazel Sky, we’ll face the Trials that all Engineers need to pass to be accepted in the flying city of Gideon. Hazel Sky looks to be a beautiful adventure with what promises to be an unsettling undercurrent of more serious themes: we reached out to developer Coffee Addict Studio to learn more, with associate founder Fábio Bizon having been kind enough to answer all our questions.
“We started working with our own computers… in 2016 or 2017, we launched our first game: Blade & Bones. You can find itIt’s not the best game in the world, but it was our first game,” he continues. “What was our goal with this game? First we learned how to launch the game, and had some money to buy some chairs, and some nice PCs so we could continue working. We got a new room to work in, and we launched the game on PS4 too.
And then, as if the situation wasn’t already complicated enough, there’s another spanner in the works: “There are some radios in the game, that reveal a strike is coming to the city,” Bizon says, referring to Shane’s home, the flying city of Gideon. “The lower class wants to take the city and depose the higher class, and Shane’s father is in that higher class, so he thinks, ‘I need to save my father and get there before the strike.
At first glance, Hazel Sky looks like a relatively peaceful, relaxing game, and we asked Bizon about the team’s decision to include those more serious themes. “Everybody wants to have their own choices, but there’s always a price to pay,” Bizon explains, adding that this is one of the messages he hopes players will take away from the game:"Life has choices. You have to pay for them. Be wise in your choices, but sometimes you can’t be wise because you don’t know what’s next.
