HOUSTON — We already have the most up-to-date radars, models, and all sorts of historical data to help with our forecasting of Houston weather. With those, we can get extremely detailed in tracking weather as it moves into and through the Greater Houston area.
But we're always on the hunt for new technology to help us get even more detailed and more accurate data. The KHOU 11 Weather team is excited to share a new piece of technology that will help us get even closer to your neighborhood as we forecast Houston weather to keep you informed and safe. Welcome to the newThe exclusive KHOU 11 Neighborhood Weather Network is made up of more than a thousand weather sensors already deployed at homes and businesses all over the Greater Houston area.
The data collected by the more than a thousand sensors gets fed directly into our systems here at KHOU 11 in real-time which allows us to map out and track conditions right down to the street level in ANY neighborhood in the Greater Houston area. Starting Monday, June 17th, you can see the exclusive KHOU 11 Neighborhood Weather Network in all KHOU 11 newscasts.
