Luckily no one was injured with no damage caused
The Government's Rail Accident Investigation Branch is looking into a "near miss" involving rail workers near a Derbyshire junction. A group of track workers were involved in the incident after a passenger train travelling at approximately 78 mph passed through Morton Junction at around 7.26am on Wednesday, November 27.
No injuries or damage were caused by the incident near the junction, which can be found between Chesterfield and Alfreton. The RAIB says it has undertaken an examination into the circumstances surrounding the incidenent. A spokesperson for the branch said: "At around 7.26am on November 27, a passenger train travelling at approximately 78 mph was involved in a near miss with a group of track workers at Morton Junction on the railway line between Chesterfield and Alfreton.
"No injuries or damage were caused by the incident. We have undertaken a preliminary examination into the circumstances surrounding this incident. Having assessed the evidence which has been gathered to date, we have decided to publish a safety digest."
