SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary Invincible creator Robert Kirkman has explained season 2's final battle, revealing why the fight between Mark and Angstrom Levy happened the way it did. The last battle between the duo happened across the multiverse, with Angstrom transporting Mark to different universes in order to weaken him. In the final part of the fight, the antagonist revealed his true strength, but wasn't able to best the hero he was facing.
If I were to kill Mark Grayson and then have another Mark Grayson show up like ‘it’s okay, the show's about him now,’ everyone would be like, ‘well, nothing matters.' So we limit our multiverse access to Angstrom Levy as a character. It’s not like there’s any infinite number of stories that could crop up. The multiverse is not coming from all these different directions.
Why Invincible’s Version Of The Multiverse Works So Well Close Because of Angstrom’s powers to travel the multiverse, he’s able to slowly weaken Mark by sending him to face an assortment of threats in other worlds. At the same time, his memories of multiple versions of himself reveal just how rare an occurrence it is for the young superhero to end up on humanity's side.
