The screens are suffering from 'burn-in'.

Burn-in on the iPhone 15 Pro Max The iPhone 15 Pro Max is less than a month old, but following reports of severe overheating, it now appears to be suffering from a bad case of ‘burn-in’. Burn-in occurs when images from the display are burnt into the screen permanently – in this case ranging from home screen apps and the keyboard to the lock screen and dock apps. It appears other models in the 15 range are not affected, although this is not the first iPhone to suffer the irritating complaint.

While the cause of the burn-in has not been identified, the phone’s screen, offering 2,504 nits of brightness, could be a factor. Here, the keyboard, dock apps and home screen apps can be seen Earlier this month new iPhone 15 Pro owners reported the devices were overheating. Apple confirmed the glitch was due to a bug in the newly-released iOS 17 software, rather than the physical design, with popular social media apps including Instagram prime culprits.
