Ipswich Town welcomes Chelsea to Portman Road for a crucial Premier League clash. The Tractor Boys are searching for their first home victory of the season, while Chelsea aims to extend their winning streak.
Ipswich captain Sam Morsy is available again after suspension and is likely to replace Kalvin Phillips. Massimo Luongo is still struggling with illness, while George Hirst, Chiedozie Ogbene and Axel Tuanzebe remain on the sidelines. Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has said he will make changes to freshen up his side for their ninth match in December.
He confirmed that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall missed the defeat by Fulham because of injury, while the omission of Noni Madueke and Renato Veiga for that game was a 'technical decision'. Ipswich's only win in their last 19 matches against Chelsea in all competitions was by 1-0 at Portman Road in the Premier League in August 1993. Chelsea won 7-0 in their most recent encounter, which was an FA Cup third-round tie at Stamford Bridge in January 2011. There has not been an away win in any of the 10 Premier League meetings, with five home victories and five draws. Chelsea have played more Premier League away games at Portman Road without winning than they have against any other opponent, although four of their five games there have been drawn. The London side's last league away win against the Tractor Boys came in the second tier in March 1989. Ipswich were unable to stay up on the two previous occasions they were in the Premier League's relegation zone at the end of a year: 1994-95 and 2001-02. The Tractor Boys could become only the fifth side to fail to win any of their first 10 Premier League home games in a season. Ipswich could equal their club record of 10 home league matches without a win from the start of a season, set in 2018-19 in the Championship. They finished bottom of the table in that campaign. They have not lost their final league fixture of a calendar year since 2019. Liam Delap has been involved in seven of their 16 league goals this season but has failed to score or assist in any of his last six top-flight appearances
