Joel Embiid, Nick Nurse and the Sixers had low opinions of the late-game officiating following the team's controversial Game 2 loss to the Knicks.
NEW YORK — The late-game officiating Monday night at Madison Square Garden sure did not sit well with the Sixers. Now down 2-0 in their first-round playoff series, the Sixers are set to file a grievance with the NBA over the officiating, a team spokesperson
His comments came after a game the Sixers led by five points with under 30 seconds remaining. The first domino to drop was a Jalen Brunson three-pointer that bounced in off the front rim. The Sixers then tried to inbound the ball, Tyrese Maxey couldn’t secure it during a frantic sequence, and New York eventually went ahead on Donte DiVincenzo’s second crack at a long-range jumper. Brunson appeared to hold Maxey’s jersey as Kyle Lowry threw the ball in.
