Coleraine stopper Max Little believes starting off as an outfield player has helped him in his new role
The role of a goalkeeper has changed a lot in recent years as they are now expected to be as good with their feet as they are with their hands. It's no different in the Irish League with more teams keen to build from the back.
"I think so, definitely," said the 22-year-old. "I think having the ball at your feet now is something key for a goalkeeper in the modern day, especially when you look at the top leagues. Whenever I was younger, I played all different kinds of sports.
"It started out well, coronavirus >COVID hit whenever I was 17 but when I was at home I was watching videos and looking at other goalkeepers. I've managed to work with a lot of great goalkeepers in the last few years and learn a lot from them too.
