The four match officials from Northern Ireland took charge of the game in Reykjavik
Irish League referee Tim Marshall and his fellow Northern Irish officials were caught up in ugly scenes following the UEFA Conference League clash between Valur and Vllaznia in Reykjavik on Thursday night.
The final whistle triggered clashes between the players and fights in the stands, with Albanian fans clashing with home security guards. Post-match reports from Reykjavik suggested Marshall and and his fellow Northern Irish officials Georgios Argyropoulos, Adam Jeffrey and Shane Andrews were spat at and had water bottles thrown at them as they left the pitch .
UEFA are now set to launch their own investigation following the chaotic scenes in Reykjavik. Lúkas Logi Heimisson, who scored Vallur's late equaliser, insisted he wasn't scared about the second leg in the Balkans.
