An Irish Liverpool supporter tragically lost his life after being struck by a car in Milan. The 51-year old fan, was fatally hit by the vehicle as he attempted to cross the A4 highway near Orio al Serio airport in Bergamo, just west of Milan, on Monday night.
According to Il Corriere della Sera, the fan had a ticket for Liverpool's match against AC Milan in his pocket. He managed to cross three lanes of the highway before being hit.Italian media suggest he was accompanied by two individuals at the time of the incident, thought to be a father and son. Police are also probing whether the man was in an "altered psychophysical state that may have influenced his actions" at the time of his death.
