According to PA Media, sources in the British Army confirmed that this year's Trooping the Colour will still happen, despite the royal family removing events from its calendar due to the upcoming special election.
Christopher is a Southern California-based editor and has been with InStyle since 2018. He covers all things entertainment, celebrity, and culture.Last week, the British royal family cleared its calendar, noting that because of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's call for a special general election, they would be rescheduling almost all of their appearances until July 4.
While 2024's Trooping the Colour remains on the calendar, there's no telling what it will look like this year as the king continues his cancer treatments and Kate Middleton remains at home, recovering from her own cancer diagnosis and subsequent chemotherapy. While Charles resumed his public-facing duties in April, Kate hasn't been at a royal event since Christmas of 2023. She announced her cancer diagnosis back in March 2024.
King Charles is expected to make an appearance at D-Day Landing events on June 5 and 6. Scheduled to take place in Normandy, France, the trip would mark Charles's first overseas visit since his cancer announcement.
