Ayon sa ulat ni Efren Mamac ng GMA Regional TV One Mindanao sa 24 Oras Weekend ngayong Linggo, namaril ang suspek sa baptismal rites na dinaluhan ng biktima na si Amilhassan Asbito.Na-recover mula sa crime scene ang 15 basyo ng caliber 5.56 mm rifle.
"Iyong bahay ng suspek adjacent lang sa doon sa may gaganapin na baptismal. Pinuntahan po namin ang bahay, wala na...mag-isa lang po ang suspek nagplano at pumatay," ani Lamitan police chief Police Lieutentant Colonel Arlan Delumpines. Ayon sa Lamitan City Police, posibleng naghiganti umano ang suspek dahil ang kapatid niya pinatay umano noong 2015 ni Asbito, na miyembro ng barangay peacekeeping action team sa bayan ng Tipo-tipo.
"May settlement na ‘yan sila. Binayaran na ng pamilya ng biktima. Tapos itong suspek natin pinapunta ‘yan ng tatay niya sa Malaysia, and then way back, mga 2020, nahuli ito sa Malaysia at na-deport...na-deport bumalik uli sa lugar," dagdag ni Dalumpines.Ayon sa pulisya, magsasampa ng kaso laban sa suspek ang pamilya ng nasawi at ng mga nasugatan.— BM, GMA Integrated News
