Islamic State’s propaganda news agency Amaq reported that the bombings were the work of ‘fighters of the Islamic State’ on Tuesday. It did not provide any evidence to support the claim.

Jacinda Ardern’s office also added that it understood ‘the Sri Lankan investigation into the attack is in its early stages’.Police in Sri Lanka have arrested 40 people as part of the investigation into the bombings of three churches and three hotels.

United Nations said more than 320 people were killed in the attack, which included 45 children and eight Brits. At least 500 people were injured.
