Passengers take part in marine workshops during the Isle of Wight's Biosphere Festival.
Ferry passengers have been given an insight into the state of England's seas as part of a weekend of environmental events.
Passengers have taken part in activities that raise awareness of plastic pollution and how to protect marine environments. On Wightlink’s St Clare ferry, between Portsmouth and Fishbourne, travellers had the chance to sieve for microplastics and observe how these particles float, while on their 45-minute crossing.
"We hope to provide a valuable learning experience for passengers travelling to and from the Isle of Wight," he said.
