'Ms Shalan added: 'The only thing that can prevent genocide from continuing in Gaza is for countries like the UK to stop providing weapons and other military support to Israel, to stop supporting the mass killing and collective punishment of Palestinians, and to push for a full and immediate ceasefire.'Israel has said it does not target civilians and has accused Hamas of operating among them to protect its fighters.
