On their 65th anniversary, Israel and the Philippines will share environmental protection best practices and train each other's experts and scientists. | ManilaBulletin

Israeli Foreign Minister Eliyahu Cohen and Department of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo on Monday signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Environmental Protection, which will allow Tel Aviv and Manila to address common challenges related to the environment as well as preserve the ecosystem, manage disaster risk, and promote and disseminate environmental technologies.

The agreement will also provide the two countries to tackle water pollution, protect biodiversity, adapt to climate change, prepare their response for environmental emergencies and promote environmental technologies. In his opening speech, Cohen said he was seeing a "bright future" for Israel-Philippine relations, which he was seeking to further expand.
