“The whole atmosphere of the district has changed. People are fearful,' music teacher Kris Lytle told KHOU 11 News.
resigned from HISD after 14 years. She explained her decision to leave and why she's concerned about the impact of the state takeover on the administration, faculty and students.
Lytle said there has been a noticeable change in how educators were assessed, the learning environments for students and the growing culture of tension. She’s concerned that students now and in the future won’t have the same positive experience her children had. Lytle hopes that speaking out about reforms will help improve the situation for those still in the district.
